Year 6 Easter School & Holiday Homework

Day 3 & 4: As we move to the last full week before SATs, the last two days were well attended that showed children and parent commitment to maximising every opportunity.  A huge thank you to parents for supporting your children and the school in encouraging your child to attend the Easter School and/or to complete the holiday homework.  We hope they found this perhaps a confidence builder, plugging a gap in knowledge or opportunity to learn in a more informal setting.  Whilst apple and chocolate chip biscuits were our break, children also went home today with a small Wispa bar to say well done!  See you all on Monday!

Day 2: Another successful morning. Well done to all those who returned and to the new ones who joined us today. Again we focused on some very challenging reasoning maths questions, looking at different ways to solve the same problem.  Ouch some of it was hard...children did really well!! Same time, same place tomorrow - make sure you are there so you don't miss out!

Reading still can continue on the reading plus programme - see link below - make sure you are taking advantage of everything on offer!

Chocolate chip breafast bars and apple juice still the favourite!  Glad Mr Metcalfe replenished the stock!

Day 1: A successful morning. 28 children attended this morning with a focus on misconceptions in maths and grammar.  Children reviewed their test paper questions.  Apple juice and chocolate chip biscuits were the most popular!

We deliberately didn't do reading and reading comprehension as this is best practiced using Reading Plus.  You or your child can access this online at: https://student.readingplus.com/seereader/api/sec/login

Further maths can be prcaticed at: https://app.mangahigh.com/en-gb/login and times tables can be practiced at : https://ttrockstars.com/login

This year we are repeating our successful Easter School for supporting our children achieve the very best they can in their Statutory Assessment Tests.

We all want your child to perform to the best of their ability and the four teachers in Year 6 and Mr Metcalfe are running sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday immediately following the Bank Holiday Monday.

The sessions wil start at 9.30am and finish at 11.00am.

Children should come to the side entrance to the school, down the side of Year 6 and enter through the Year 6 classrooms.  Follow the notices.

We are providing free fruit juice and breakfast bars to stimulate the brain!
