We have developed our online learning so that they are part of two approaches during the Coronavirus outbreak:
- standalone activities (for those not able to attend)
- as part of blended learning (for those able to attend for some face-to-face sessions and online)
Both approaches use the same Weekly Chart of Activities that is set by the teachers. This is posted to your child's Google Classroom. We strongly encourage parents to sit with their children and allocate the activities to a weekly timetable that you can organise to meet your needs, e.g. children sharing devices, parents work pattern etc. A template example timetable is provided here: Example Timetable Template for Parents to set activities from Weekly Chart of Activities.
VIDEO CONFERENCING WITH GOOGLE MEET
We have set up group Google Meet video conferencing sessions for Pupil Briefings and Feedback Sessions and Live Teaching Sessions. The Pupil Briefing and Feedback will not be direct teaching sessions but will be opportunities for staff to give feedback on submitted work as well as encourgaing and informing of the next stages of learning activities. The Live Teaching sessions have been extremely popular for children and parents. Often two live teaching sessions about 30-50 minutes long depending upon the age of children. We utilise this for Quality First teaching as well as Intervention.
We expect all those children who are invited to the Meet to attend whenever possible. Invitations will be posted on the Google Classroom as activities so that it restricts access to only those pupils invited. A timetable of dates/times when these will take place is published in tyour child's Google Classroom.
If you need technical support or need password resetting etc please contact Live Chat on this website.
