We're getting ready for World Book Day 2022 ...look what we did last year!

maskedThe Masked Reader Competition and more for World Book Day

Below were some great activities to get you 'bookish' in 2021. In case you are wondering - still no costumes this year (phew!) but pyjamas will be in use!

This year again we will be joining in with the celebrations for World Book Day - a day for sharing our love of books and the extraordinary adventures that stories can take us on.

Last year, across our whole school, we shared a fantastic book called 'Perfectly Norman', which encouraged everyone to celebrate and love their uniqueness, rather than trying to hide it away. A range of fun activities that are linked to the story was planned, as well as the keenly awaited 'Masked Readers' quiz! Did you guess who was behind the mask?

WBDPNMTeachers shared Perfectly Norman and the Masked Reader quiz with their class during live lessons (as many of us were at home isolating from Covid), but to make sure parents can enjoy sharing the fun with their children, we put links to the story, the Masked Reader quiz and the Pick 'n' Mix afternoon activities below (if you wanted to revisit this!). We will again be providing you with a £1 book token which can be exchanged in participating books shops for one of the World Book Day books.

Again this year, please make sure you share any photos that you take during the day, either using your child's Google Class stream or on Tapestry or you can Tweet them on parents’ Twitter Accounts with the hashtag #smcepslovereading
