World Book Day 2021 - making it great wherever you are...
The Masked Reader Competition and more for World Book Day
Below are some great activities to get you 'bookish'. In case you are wondering - no costumes this year (phew!)
Tomorrow we will be joining in with the celebrations for World Book Day - a day for sharing our love of books and the extraordinary adventures that stories can take us on. Across our whole school, we will be sharing a fantastic book called 'Perfectly Norman', which encourages everyone to celebrate and love their uniqueness, rather than trying to hide it away. A range of fun activities that are linked to the story have been planned, as well as the keenly awaited 'Masked Readers' quiz! Will you guess who's behind the mask?
Teachers will be sharing Perfectly Norman and the Masked Reader quiz with their class during live lessons, but to make sure parents can enjoy sharing the fun with their children, we have put links to the story, the Masked Reader quiz and the Pick 'n' Mix afternoon activities below. You will also find a link to the World Book Day £1 Book Token which can be printed off at home (paper copies will be sent out when all children return to school on Monday). These can be exchanged in participating books shops for one of the World Book Day books.
Please make sure you share any photos that you take during the day, either using your child's Google Class stream or on Tapestry or you can Tweet them on parents’ Twitter Accounts with the hashtag #smcepslovereading
